Digg and YouTube could be the reason why the Democrats took control of the Senate Nov 8th. Exiting senator George Allen’s reputation was repeatedly marred when hundreds of throusands saw controversial videos, potentially losing him the campaign.
Consider,
- Sen. George Allen was defeated in Virginia by Jim Webb by a margin of roughly 7000 votes.
- Viginia was the closest race in the election, eventually becoming the 51st seat for the democrats awarding them control of the senate.
