This past weekend was all about Idol and DJing. I was lucky enough to be in attendance at Sunday’s finale of Canadian Idol. As someone who never watches Idol it was very outside-looking-in, and in the end I found it very interesting.

Winner Eva Avila impressed me, I think she has a very real shot at making good in music. We haven’t heard much from our former Idols, maybe she can be Canada’s Kelly Clarkson and actually have a career.

The whole show was a lot more heartfelt (human?) than the American counterpart, and I got to see Nelly Furtado do a song live. Also, being able to attend the wrap party for Canada’s biggest tv show was pretty interesting too.

Earlier in the weekend some friends and I DJed as a group of four; usually I just work with my friend Gabe. DJing as 4 is quite similar to DJing as 1 or 2, but you have more hands to take care of important elements like arm-pumping and strobe-control. Lots of pics after the jump.

Saturday was loft party time.
