Lil Wayne ft. T-Pain - Got Money
July 29

It’s here! It’s here!

This is only the beginning, they say. In the works is a new album from these two. Still on the way is his album with Lloyd and Juelz Santana. Hard Working dude.

John Legend featuring Andre 3000 - Green Light
July 25

I love John Legend, right from his first album he was one of the freshest artists out. He always has a nice sound to his songwriting and of course his voice. This new track features Andre 3000 and they just did a video, but I can’t wait for the vid, had to post it now.

Black Kids Dissed By Pitchfork
July 23

So Pitchfork barely reviews the Black Kids album, and it’s the story of the day at the office. It’s one of those times where you want to hate Pitchfork for being snobby and bratty, but it’s spot on.

Poor Black Kids, not much of a band and an unfortunate smear on my memory of this year’s Cut Copy show. I’m sorry you got so much hype.

Ironically, the LA Times gave the review about 500 words more than Pitchfork’s usual review.

So what to make of Scott Plagenhoef’s resolutely lazy, unfunny and fundamentally disrespectful review of Black Kids’ “Partie Traumatic” today? You’ll give paragraph after paragraph to an unknown demo, but take said band’s major-label debut as a smirky in-joke among your staff? Give them the 3.3 if it’s warranted. But have something to say regarding how or why it’s deserved beyond this narcissistic, juvenile-Dave Eggers bit of self-reflection.

Midnight Juggernauts - Into The Galaxy Video
July 21

Last year when I posted the original video for this song, I was excited for the album. I still listen to this album and it’s stood the test of time pretty well. They opened for Justice in Toronto this fall and despite what some of my friends say, completely outshone them.

This new Rozen & Schmeltz video just went up on the fader blog. It was done for Rozen’s Surface 2 Air brand. There’s more going on in this one, but i kind of liked the simplicity of the original.

And if you haven’t seen surface 2 air’s Justice line of clothes, look now, look now!

Jesse Harris: Jesse The Body
July 14

My pal Jesse Harris‘ new show is amazing. Last week I hit the opening, and the Mona Lisa had already sold. Hit Le Gallery while it’s still there. And if you’re in Montreal, watch for Jesse, Jimmy Limit and Shawn Kuruneru’s Shangri Lost 5 to hit the Emporium this thursday!

JESSE THE BODY
From July 2nd to July 27th
LE Gallery - 1183 Dundas St W, Toronto ON

CSS - Rat Is Dead Video
July 3

This weekend I tried Sirius Satellite radio for the first time. My skepticism is acutally waining. Among the all-Elvis and all-Springsteen stations (pretty great) you’ll find a few really good indie rock and dance stations that I enjoyed flipping through. Also, BBC1!

Anyways I heard this song debuted on the indie rock station Left of Center and it stuck with me….and now it has a nice video.
